Sea FloodingThe team works mainly with land and property owners to investigate and alleviate flooding of property. It exercises powers granted by the Land Drainage Act 1991 to ensure that privately owned watercourses are properly maintained. Where wider public benefits can be demonstrated minor watercourse improvement work and maintenance maybe undertaken.

The team also provides advice about flood prevention and comments on the land drainage aspect of planning applications.
